2021 Section 5 championships
(Oct. 12, 2021) -- Our Lady of Mercy junior Julia Zigrossi shot a 75 in the final round at Irondequoit Country Club to successfully defend her Section 5 girls championship and lead a contingent of nine area golfers advancing to the NYSPHSAA tournament in the spring.

Sparked by an eagle on the par-5 third hole, the Spencerport transfer played the front nine in 1-under-par on Day 2 of the tournament to run away with a 13-stroke victory.

Teammate Sophia Cellura finished second as the Monarchs placed four competitors in the top eight. Third-place finisher Kiera Lalley of Victor walked all 36 holes wearing a heavy brace on her right knee as she continued her recovery from surgery in March for a skiing injury.
