2020 Section 5 championships
(Oct. 21, 2020) -- Spencerport sophomore Julia Zigrossi fired a pair of 2-over-par 74s to run away with the Section 5 girls golf championship by 19 strokes at Ridgemont Country Club in Greece. Zigrossi, the runner-up a year ago as a freshman, quickly took command by opening her first round with a 1-over 37 on the front nine. She came back to Ridgemont, where she is a member, two days later to match that stellar performance on a day that began with wind and rain. The performance qualified her for her fourth consecutive NYSPHSAA tournament appearance. Pittsford junior Jayden Ford, the 2019 Rochester District Golf Association junior women's champion, placed second with rounds of 83-84 for a 167 total. Victor's Caitlin Keenan rounded out the top three with 86-82--168. The leading finishers:
