2018 Section 5 championships
(Oct. 10, 2018) -- Webster senior Mikah McDonnell pulled away from the field on the back nine and earned her second Section 5 girls golf championship with a round of 77 at Deerfield Country Club. The Webster Thomas senior, who plans to continue her career at William & Mary, finished six shots ahead of Claire Yioulos from Honeoye Falls-Lima. The two matched 39s on the front nine before McDonnell steadily pulled away. Victor freshman Kiera Lally shot an 85 to come in third. The top nine finishers advance to the NYSPHSAA tournament in June at Deerfield. Holly Ebert defeated Penfield teammate Kendall Cox on the first playoff hole for the final berth on the state team after they matched 92s. The leading finishers:
